Allowing alarms

Wiser asks for alarm permission when you set up your first alarm. An active membership is required to create, enable, or reschedule an alarm. If access is denied, open Settings in Wiser, tap Alarm access, and allow alarms in iOS Settings. Return to Wiser and check that your alarm is enabled.

With alarm access enabled, alarms can play through Silent mode and Focus, including while your iPhone is locked. Keep your iPhone powered on, and check the volume with a short test alarm when you first set up Wiser.

Can I wake at different times during the week?

Yes. Tap Add alarm, choose a time, and select its repeat days. For example, set weekdays for 6:30 and weekends for 8:00, or choose a different time for each day. Wiser allows one alarm per day; edit an existing alarm or change its days if they overlap. With no repeat days selected, an alarm rings just once at the next occurrence of that time.

Adjusting volume and vibration

On iOS 26, open iPhone Settings > Sounds & Haptics and adjust Ringtone and Alerts. Enable Change with Buttons to adjust this level with the side buttons when media is not playing. Replaying a lesson inside Wiser uses media volume.

For sound without vibration, open Sounds & Haptics > Haptics, choose Don’t Play in Silent Mode, then keep your iPhone in Silent mode. With alarm access allowed, Wiser’s alarm can still sound. Alternatively, Never Play turns off vibration for calls and alerts in both modes. These choices also affect other alerts; iOS does not give Wiser its own vibration switch. Use Test Wiser to confirm the result on your iPhone. Find these directions under Volume & vibration during alarm setup, or Settings > Sound & vibration. The iOS Settings button opens Wiser’s settings; return to the main Settings screen to find Sounds & Haptics.

Can I see the introduction again?

Yes. Open Wiser’s Settings and tap View introduction. You can hear the preview and review volume and vibration guidance without deleting your saved alarms or past lessons.

What plays when an alarm rings?

An eight-second musical opening gives you a moment to wake. The lesson then begins, with the music fading beneath its first three seconds. Hear Again replays the lesson from the beginning for members.

How does Snooze work?

Snooze is optional. When enabled, tapping Snooze pauses the alarm for five minutes, then restarts the opening sound and the same lesson. Stop ends the alarm. Ignoring an alarm does not start a five-minute snooze timer.

Keeping your alarm ready

Open Wiser regularly and after travel or changes to your iPhone, time zone, or alarm permissions. Confirm the next alarm. Wiser prepares upcoming alarms in advance, but iOS may limit background updates, so it cannot keep scheduling indefinitely without opening the app.

Do not enable iOS’s Require Face ID or Hide App options for Wiser. The normal iPhone Lock Screen is fine; locking or hiding the app itself prevents its alarms.

How are lessons selected?

Wiser assigns one randomly selected lesson each day your alarm rings. It uses every lesson in the library before starting a new cycle. Snooze and Hear Again do not assign another lesson.

What happens when paid access ends?

An alarm already armed remains armed. An active membership (trial, subscription, or lifetime purchase) is required to create, enable, or reschedule an alarm, and to replay lesson audio. Past heard lesson text and book or audiobook links remain available in Archives.

Offline listening and book links

Scheduled alarm audio and bundled lessons are stored on your iPhone, so they play without an internet connection. Book and audiobook links open an outside retailer and require internet access. Buying a book or audiobook is separate from paying for Wiser.

How does the free trial work?

Choose the annual plan and confirm with Apple to start seven days of narrated lessons and audio replay at no charge, if you are eligible. After the trial, Apple charges $24.99 for a year of access. The plan renews annually unless canceled. To avoid a charge, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.

Downloading Wiser does not start a trial or a subscription. Apple checks eligibility. Monthly access is $3.99/month and lifetime access is $79.99 once. Both are charged when you confirm, without a trial. These are US prices; Apple shows the actual price and terms before purchase.

Subscriptions and refunds

Manage your subscription in iPhone Settings > your name > Subscriptions. Deleting Wiser does not cancel a subscription. Apple's subscription guide explains how to cancel, and its refund guide explains how to request a refund. Our terms describe the purchase options.
