About Wiser.
One-minute philosophy lessons for a more thoughtful, meaningful life.
Philosophy for daily life
Philosophy asks questions we still face: how to handle anger, what makes a good life, why we misjudge people, and how to spend the time we have. But knowing where to start can be difficult. Dense language and missing context can make a useful idea hard to reach.
Wiser gives you an introduction. Each lesson takes one philosophical idea and explains it in everyday language, then connects it to a situation you might recognize. The point is to understand and apply that idea, not to summarize an entire book.
Where the ideas come from
Wiser draws from great philosophers and classic literature. A literary scene can reveal a philosophical insight, but literature is a source for the lesson, not a separate book-summary category. Each lesson names its author and work.
Why an alarm clock?
A morning alarm already has a place in many people's lives. Wiser uses that moment to share a lesson: eight seconds of music to help you wake, then about a minute of narration. You can return to heard lessons later in Archives.
From source to lesson
Our production process starts with checking the source, writing an original explanation, and reviewing it for accuracy and clarity. Literature-based lessons include enough context to understand the philosophical idea without having read the work.
Lessons and audio are prepared before release and stored on your iPhone. Wiser does not generate a response when your alarm rings, use runtime AI, or imitate historical authors' voices.
A minute can introduce an idea; there is much more in the source. That's why Archives includes book and audiobook links for anyone who wants to go further.
